About

Janice

I started riding again 10 years ago after not being on a horse for more than 20 years. I’d always missed riding but I didn’t know I missed until I moved from Toronto to Niagara just to be closer to the barn. I was lucky that I have a small web design/social media company so I could pack up my computer and go. I was also lucky that my partner supported the move.

Adult riders face a lot of different problems that kids and teenagers don’t. Kids may be afraid to fall off and hurt themselves, we’re terrified.

So many things come into play – physical, psychological, the time factor. I’m going to have guest bloggers adding their stories, lots of links to helpful information and a lot of fun.

Dody

Dody is my 9 year old Hanovarian gelding. You can see him on my banner. He’s the horse on the right in the beautiful field scene taken by my friend Val. The smaller pic is Dody and me after riding a dressage test at a show.

What can I say about Dody – He’s always had the sweetest temperment if you’re just patting him but not so much when I was riding. He’s been an incredible challenge for me over the past four years but we’ve made great strides and I can’t image life without him.
